News From The Project

The Truth And Dolphin Music Project first album, the poetry book release Chronicles of Living Memory Part 1, released March 13 2021, as the first of a 3 part trilogy featuring photo art by Hecuja Marqum Productions. Based in Victoria, BC, Canada, Truth and Dolphin is the 20 year musical experiment and recording alias of lead singer Jared Nyberg. On Part 1, Cory Christiansen, also of Victoria BC, was a critical part of the writing and arrangement process, and brings the songs to life with textured instrumentation on guitars, banjo, and keys; he infuses a folk funk edge into the music.

Nyberg says “The recordings span four years and are based in the belief that songs are gifts, and even though some of the songs were written to different genres and time periods that no longer resonate with me, they can be reinterpreted and rearranged to be meaningful and impactful again. This album is a form of self rediscovery, finding meaning in the cycle of reality.”

Live performances feature a range of diverse musical perspectives from folk funk to poetry rock, with rotating accompanists, the current backing band featuring the detailed guitar work of Steve Chmilar and the accomplished musicianship of Sherri Anne of Sister Speak. The project’s focus is on the musical energy, and the connecting piece is Nyberg’s book of poetry.

In support of the new album, on March 19, a livestream broadcast over YouTube and Facebook will happen at 8pm PST.
On April 30 the band will provide music from behind plexiglass at JagaSilk’s Tea & Dessert with Music Fridays. More details at www.jagasilk.com
